South Asian Heritage Month
South Asian Heritage Month is the name given to the month-long celebration in the South Asian diaspora to celebrate the heritage of people with roots in the South Asian countries of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives.
It runs from 18 July to 17 August each year.
In Sutton, we are celebrating the borough’s South Asian Heritage in the following ways:

SUTTON CENTRAL LIBRARY
Young creatives from Sutton’s Tamil Community have curated an exhibition that showcases Tamil culture, design and art.

SUTTON CENTRAL LIBRARY
A great opportunity for young children aged 0-6 to visit the library and listen to stories and rhymes delivered in dual language (Tamil and English).
This session will be delivered by Sutton Cultural Services Volunteers, in celebration of South Asian Heritage Month, and will feature an exciting story, interactive rhymes, dance and music.
