Resilient Futures: Call for Artists

Call for Artists, Authors, Performers, Facilitators and Creative Health Practitioners

 

Artists, Authors, Creatives and Creative Health Practitoners are all being sought for Resilient Futures - a Creative Health programme for children, taking place across the London Borough of Sutton’s Cultural Services venues and outreach venues, such as family hubs, leisure centres and parks. The programme will take place across 2025 and early 2026 and will feature a children’s summer festival: Sutton’s Summer of Stories, during the 2025 summer holidays.

 

What’s on offer: 20 individual commissions to develop and present a performance or engagement activity once across the course of the programme. Sessions must focus on wellbeing and emotional resilience and applications must demonstrate a clear link to these themes / outcomes in their applications.

 

Applications that feature or are inspired by a children’s book or story will be prioritised for our summer holiday 2025 programme. Applications not featuring a children’s book or story will be commissioned during other holiday periods during the project’s timeframe.

 

Where: London Borough of Sutton, various locations

 

Fee: £350 fee per artist / organisation, for one public session during the project’s timeframe, development of the work, contribution to project evaluation and contribution to a social media campaign to promote the event.

 

Timeframe: Public events to be delivered by February 2026.

 

How to Apply 


All those wishing to apply for funding to develop and deliver their Resilient Futures proposal must complete the application form and checklist, ‘Application - Resilient Futures’, which requests the following information: 

1. A written or verbal description of your work on a website, in articles or on social media platforms (instagram, X etc.), with reference, where possible, to experience delivering public activities or services. If you would prefer not to share online links please provide a PDF document with visual or written examples of your work - no more than 10mb. 

2. A supporting statement (500-1000 words max. or 5 mins film or voice recording), which includes: 
a) An outline of your interest in taking up this project, and what you hope to achieve from the project 
b) Details of how your project meets the brief, expectations and outputs. Please include details of your business or charity registration if you have it but this is not mandatory.
