Call for Artists, Authors, Performers, Facilitators: Sutton’s Summer of Stories
OVERVIEW
Artists and creatives including authors, storytellers, performers, musicians, animators and craftspeople, are all being sought for Sutton’s Summer of Stories, a children’s literature festival taking place across the London Borough of Sutton’s Cultural Services venues throughout the 2024 summer holidays, with the option for some events to be carried out in the October 2024 half term. What’s on offer: 8 individual commissions to develop and present a performance or engagement activity twice across the course of the festival, which uses the theme of children’s literature.
FEE / BENEFITS
£600 fee per artist/organisation, for two public sessions across the festival period, development of the work, contribution to project evaluation and contribution to a social media campaign to promote the festival.
TIMEFRAME
Public events to be delivered in July - August and October 2024.
APPLICATION PROCESS
The application window for these commissions will open between 7 May - 4 June 2024. A panel will meet regularly during this period to review submissions, with the potential for commissions to be awarded to strong proposals before the application window closes. We therefore recommend all interested parties submit as early as possible, or contact us as soon as possible to express their interest or to discuss ideas.
