The Grade II listed building next to Carshalton Ponds dates from the 17th century but was extended in the Victorian and Edwardian periods. The house has been beautifully restored to show how it would have looked when it was a family home. The Edwardian era billiards room, drawing room, bathroom and kitchen will let visitors step into the past and see for themselves how the residents of Honeywood would have lived.</span></p>

Built around 1500, Whitehall is a Grade II* listed Tudor house in the heart of Cheam Village. It is owned and managed by the London Borough of Sutton who opened it as a local museum in 1978 following a campaign by the community.</span></p>

Inspired by Ruskin, Dickinson bought one of the first plots of land in this developing South London suburb at the end of the nineteenth century. Little Holland House is open on the first Sunday of each month with regular tours about the history of the house throughout the day.</span></p>

Honeywood stands at the western end of Carshalton Ponds surrounded by historic buildings and water features which together form one of the most interesting and attractive areas in Greater London.</span></p>

Download the app to access all reading materials in one place.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">eBook readers allow the text of books to be increased and altered to suit the reader. These can be downloaded onto a smart device at home for free. eBooks available from <a href="https://libraries.sutton.gov.uk/digital-content/digital-resources/digital-library">BorrowBox</a> and <a href="https://libraries.sutton.gov.uk/digital-content/digital-resources/digital-library">Libby</a> support different colour themes available (e.g. Lite, Sepia, Dark) and different fonts available including Dyslexia friendly font. BorrowBox has adjustable text spacing (e.g. narrow, normal &amp; wide). Libby has a &ldquo;define&rdquo; feature, allowing you to see the meaning of a word within the text.</span></p>

The play speed of eAudiobooks can be made faster or slower based on the user&rsquo;s personal preference. Audio books can be borrowed free of charge if you are visually impaired or have another disability or condition which makes it difficult for you to read print. Sections of text can be highlighted for easier reading. There is audio narration available from text. Publications can be presented as was printed, in a screen friendly format and/or full screen. And &ldquo;SmartZoom&rdquo; allows automatic zoom in to the start of an article. <a href="https://libraries.sutton.gov.uk/digital-content/digital-resources/digital-library">Libby, by Overdrive</a> provides digital magazines with can be scaled in text size and has different colour modes (bright, sepia and dark) for a more comfortable reading experience.</span></p>

When Lily Dunn was just six years old, her father left the family home to follow his guru to India, trading domestic life for clothes dyed in oranges and reds and the promise of enlightenment with the cult of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. Since then he has been a mystery to her. She grew up enthralled by the image of him; effervescent, ambitious and elusive, a writer, publisher and entrepreneur, a man who would appear with gifts from faraway places, and with whom she spent the long, hot summers of her teenage years in Italy, in the company of his wild and wealthy friends. Yet he was also a compulsive liar, a delinquent, a man who abandoned his responsibilities in a pursuit of transcendence that took him from sex addiction, via the Rajneesh cult, to a relentless chase of money, which ended in ruin and finally addiction to alcohol and prescription drugs.
