The Grade II listed building next to Carshalton Ponds dates from the 17th century but was extended in the Victorian and Edwardian periods. The house has been beautifully restored to show how it would have looked when it was a family home. The Edwardian era billiards room, drawing room, bathroom and kitchen will let visitors step into the past and see for themselves how the residents of Honeywood would have lived.</span></p>

Built around 1500, Whitehall is a Grade II* listed Tudor house in the heart of Cheam Village. It is owned and managed by the London Borough of Sutton who opened it as a local museum in 1978 following a campaign by the community.</span></p>

Inspired by Ruskin, Dickinson bought one of the first plots of land in this developing South London suburb at the end of the nineteenth century. Little Holland House is open on the first Sunday of each month with regular tours about the history of the house throughout the day.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">eBook readers allow the text of books to be increased and altered to suit the reader. These can be downloaded onto a smart device at home for free. eBooks available from <a href="https://libraries.sutton.gov.uk/digital-content/digital-resources/digital-library">BorrowBox</a> and <a href="https://libraries.sutton.gov.uk/digital-content/digital-resources/digital-library">Libby</a> support different colour themes available (e.g. Lite, Sepia, Dark) and different fonts available including Dyslexia friendly font. BorrowBox has adjustable text spacing (e.g. narrow, normal &amp; wide). Libby has a &ldquo;define&rdquo; feature, allowing you to see the meaning of a word within the text.</span></p>

Audio books can be borrowed free of charge if you are visually impaired or have another disability or condition which makes it difficult for you to read print. Sections of text can be highlighted for easier reading. There is audio narration available from text. Publications can be presented as was printed, in a screen friendly format and/or full screen. And &ldquo;SmartZoom&rdquo; allows automatic zoom in to the start of an article. <a href="https://libraries.sutton.gov.uk/digital-content/digital-resources/digital-library">Libby, by Overdrive</a> provides digital magazines with can be scaled in text size and has different colour modes (bright, sepia and dark) for a more comfortable reading experience.</span></p>

For visitors with Special Education Needs and Disabilities, or adults experiencing early stage dementia and their families and carers, Honeywood Museum will now be open outside of regular hours on special ‘quiet days’. 

Enjoy the museum at your own pace, free from the general public. Sensory sacks will be available. 

Join us this summer for trails and crafts inspired by Furry Friends from some of your favourite books. Follow Millie’s Furry Friends Trail, make a Winnie the Pooh mask - Pooh Bear, Piglet, or Tigger, create a collage of Peter Rabbit in Mr.McGregor’s garden and make your own Hungry Caterpillar.

Pre-booking is essential. Entry is free. 

When booking a ticket: 1 ticket per group (max. group of 6). Entry times are half hourly, but guests are welcome to stay as long as they wish.
