Description:
Oil & Water explores the history of the lavender industry in the London Borough of Sutton through the contemporary lens of Carshalton Lavender CIC, a volunteer led not for profit group growing lavender on an allotment site. The film explores the contemporary legacy of this historic local industry by capturing the groups annual pick your own harvest weekend, as well as the distillation of their essential oil which they do on site in their field.
2pm - 2:45pm: First screening followed by a short Q&A with some of the film’s participants. Due to limited capacity, booking is essential. The film will then be shown throughout the afternoon at regular intervals.
2:30pm - 4.30pm: To complement the film, try your hand at lino printing with our unique local lavender scenes created by Doug Shaw and scented with the sweet scent of lavender. Drop in. The film will then be shown throughout the afternoon at regular intervals.
